BASIC INFORMATION
Name: Ithaqua. Real name Eta Vilulf.
Aliases/titles: Night Watch, The Walking Death, The Abominable Snowman
Age: Appears early 20's, and is stuck at this physical age forever. Chronologically 100-200.
Orientation: Bisexual cismale (he/him, occasionally it/its in meta)
Canon Point: What is a canon point for him anyway... I'm fine with just going with stageplay-like rules where anything goes and all the participants of the games live together.
Species/race: Claims to have "shed his humanity" but unknown if that's literal or just a metaphor. I headcanon that he's a very young eldritch abomination.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Surface personality traits: Ithaqua is quite formal and well-spoken for someone raised away from people, but also open about his preference for the company of animals and non-humans, and in the absence of either, just being by himself rather than mingling with humans. He proudly calls himself a barbarian who spurns civilization, but he's not about to be an ass to others just because of this-- just cold or scornful if they say something he doesn't agree with.
Fashion: He values function rather than fashion. Layers and padding are especially important because of the colder temperatures in his region, and because he hunts primarily at night-- though because Ithaqua doesn't feel the cold as much, his layers and padding aren't as thick as one would expect. Curiously, he insists on having pointed stilts, a hood with large ears, and clawed gloves. His most consistent feature is the mask, and it will always be with him no matter what he wears-- if he can't wear it, he'll insist on some kind of mask anyway, even a half-mask will do.
Height: Unknown. Headcanon says he's about 6", but the stilts add about an extra 2-3ft, though it's difficult to tell sometimes just by looking at him because of how he crouches and bends. (IDV likes to exagerrate hunter sizes so I may be vastly underestimating his height.)
Build: Toes the line between lean and gaunt. His limbs look unnaturally long, like he's an underfed young man who literally got stretched out a little. With his eyes and fangs, he looks slightly uncanny even without his mask.
Hair: Silver-blond and quite fluffy. Looks almost properly blond, or full white depending on the lighting/artist. Some skins depict him with other hair colors, but we don't count those as pertinent for this Ithaqua.
Eyes: Black sclera with white irises and pupils, though his mask has black sclera with blue irises, which confuses people. Formerly had normal sclera and blue eyes.
Voice: CN: An Zhi | EN: Krishna Kumar: one, two | JP: Hoshi Souichiro : one, two. In English, Ithaqua sounds faux-British in the "hailing from a fantasy land" way.
Language: Norwegian, possibly Icelandic or another descendant of Old Norse, and potentially English. He doesn't come from a country with a parallel in the real world but rather some place inspired by Lovecraft's works, which makes many things vague. All we know of his homeland is that it's on Earth, and somewhere very far north, and what we know of his mother is that she was a Viking.
Scent: Slightly earthy and crisp like the forest, and sometimes bitter like medicinal herbs. He can also smell like blood, depending on whether or not he managed to hunt someone for sport or something for food that day.
Hand dominance: Right-handed for just about everything.
Literacy: Can read and write, and can easily copy someone's writing style.
Triggers: Being reminded about his face, his twin, being told his mother is beyond help, people trying to hurt animals. These are usually anger triggers, and his usual reaction to anyone touching on any of these is physical violence.
Headcanons:
- Ithaqua is colder than a human mostly due to his unique biology and skillset, and he's not bothered at all by colder climates.
- He barely remembers his real name, and has lost track of how old he is.
- He's a young eldritch abomination/Great Old One ala Lovecraftian mythos-- in the actual mythos, Ithaqua is the son of the King in Yellow/Hastur, who is Cthulhu's brother. Hastur is also present in IDV in a role similar to the one he has in the mythos, but his actual relationship with Ithaqua is still unknown. Ithaqua was born human and turned later in life, and while physical changes are already present on his body, he's still far from achieving his full power and "final form" due to being so young.
abilities
That's not all, as he can also use the wind on his own body depending on need-- he can lighten his body with the wind around it, either to move faster and even jump over obstacles for a short period of time, or allow him to propel himself several feet forward if his prey is too far to catch up with sprinting, though it doesn't make him immune to colliding with obstacles. With the latter, he can even change the direction of his dash during it... somehow... He can't do a 180 or even a 90, but he can curve just a bit.
Resistance to low temperatures: Ithaqua has little issue with living in a perpetually snowy forest that often has blizzards. He goes out in less layers than the people he hunts, and as his title implies, he always does so at night, and isn't hindered by the cold or the snow in any way.
Other: He knows herbalism, as taught by his mother, a Viking witch and astrologer. However, it's impossible to know for now what else he learned, or if his mother taught him some witchcraft. TBA when they add more lore to him. Additionally, Ithaqua's abilities are not set in stone, because as I mention here, he's still far from achieving his final form and final powers.
kinks
Preferences: 18+. Ithaqua really likes older people though, particularly those who are mature... or those who look mature or older than they are. He also appreciates intelligence and eloquence, but he's not interested in the typical nerd. He likes people a bit tougher than that in order to keep up with him, like the cultured warrior/warrior-scholar trope. Non-humans get considered as partners faster/sooner than humans.
Dislikes: Liars/hypocrites/cowards/overall insincere people, people who really like humans, those who hunt magical people and non-humans for who they are, those who like to hunt animals or beasts for sport.
Top/bottom: Vers. He'll check with what his partner prefers and adjusts accordingly. He tends to be an enthusiastic, sometimes aggressive top, and an insatiable power bottom.
D/s orientation: Switch, but is absolutely a sadist. Spank him at your own risk, because he prefers to be doing that.
Romance: May take a while, given his entire personality is built around being an anti-social, human-hating jerk, and has enough baggage for multiple lifetimes. His memory problems will also be obstacles in later canon points, as he may forget details about his relationships, or even outright forget about said relationship. He's heavily drawn to emotional attachments, so chemistry is important before getting together, and especially for sex in a relationship.
FWB: Probably not for him, really. He tends to be possessive and overprotective, so he's not going to be good at keeping up with the boundaries that FWB require (like controlling his jealousy if the FWB has other partners, etc).
OOC ship/dynamic preferences: Alva, Norton (either Pros or FG), Luchino (either Prof or the lizard), Frederick, Sangria, Ann, Richard. In general I lean more towards hunters, but I also enjoy hunter/survivor relationships. As for crosscanon ships, I do like Ithaqua going for the dilfs/milfs/more mature-looking people, and the non-humans.
